Family...

So with the arrival of Harper we have been blessed to have our family come stay and visit with us. It has been wonderful. Charlie's mom stayed and helped with the girls while I was in the hospital and completed many home improvement projects for us. Totally awesome! Todd came and visited us while I was still in the hospital. He was on his way back to NC for school. My parents came the first weekend and then my mom came and stayed a few days after that and we actually managed to venture out with the two youngest ones...it was definitely a little stressful so I am glad she was there to help me! My sister also came out for one night and we managed to get a little craft shopping in! Then Megan and Shane came and stayed with us and we had a blast visiting with them! I'm sure they were all kidded out from us! All we did was play and watch kids movies! Lol! They were definitely troopers! Unfortunately there are no pics of Megan and Shane...I forgot to bust out the camera...next time though! Thanks again to all of you who were able to come and help us out and visit with us, it means a lot to our family!

Grandma Boo and Harper on Harpers birthday!

Uncle Todd and his youngest niece!

Grandparents Ellis and all the granddaughters!

Olivia is MIA...she was a bit feisty that day!

 Auntie Melissa and Harper :)

3 weeks old and counting...

So yesterday Harper turned 3 weeks old! It definitely doesn't feel like it's been that long but the evidence is obvious. She is getting bigger by the day and is so squishy cute! We are working on the whole night and day thing right now...she is getting better at it! I even caught her rolling over from her belly to her back one night! She is such a sweet and fun addition to the family!

Harper at 2 weeks...

So today we had Harpers two week check up. She has been a joy to have! She sleeps a lot at night and rarely cries. What more could I ask for? So her stats for today 8 lbs 9 oz and 20.5 inches tall. Keep in mind she was only 8 lbs 1 oz when she was born so she is doing very well weight wise.

Unfortunately the doctor  had one big concern today which sent us on a trip to the local children's hospital. Her belly. The doctor was very concerned that her abdomen was distended with no apparent cause. She eats, drinks, poops and pees ok so I was baffled. I did notice she was gassy last night but didn't think much of it. Anyways, she wanted to send us right away for some X-rays and even had another pediatrician come in and take a look at her. She mentioned that she sees a lot of kids and that her belly was just really big and was 'bugging' her and wanted to send us for this test and that we would go from there. She said it could be nothing but better safe than sorry.

Silly me thinking it was going to be a quick trip to the doctor...wasn't prepared. Didn't have any diapers/wipes/snacks for either of the kids. Oh well. We survived.

Charlie met us at the doctor and we all drove to the Childrens Medical Center for our X-rays. Olivia was patient enough... for a toddler anyways. I would have been a wreck if Charlie hadn't been there helping out though! He watched her while Harper was getting her x rays. We then had to wait a little longer in the waiting area while the radiologist read the X-rays and got back to our pediatrician. She called us back about 40 minutes after the X-ray and said that it was nothing major that she was just full of gas. Thank the Lord! I did have a moment in X-ray when I wondered what would happen if something was wrong and broke down a little but thankfully everything turned out well. We stopped and picked up some gas drops on the way home and we will be giving the lactation consultant a call tomorrow to see if they have any recommendations for this gassiness.

Sweet precious Harper! I don't know what I would do without her! The girls love her, it is so fun to watch Olivia and Ava interact with her! Olivia knows who she is, when asked where Harper is she points to her! So fun! Ava loves holding her is just thrilled to be a big sister again!

Love my new baby girl!

Enjoying the mild but windy weather today.

HAHAHA! Love this! She is mid run and her little cheeks look like an old man's cheeks!

You remember rolling down hills when you were a kid!

 All done!

No luck getting the two of them to sit together!

Happy 2012!
